About THE HOT FAMILY

Hot Radio:

Hot Radio was designed to put the station at the beating heart of the local community.

With Almost all radio stations now transmitting into the area with no local output, the one thing Covid taught us was the importance of the local community.

Hot Radio provides the listener with up-to-date local traffic and travel information, local news and information, competitions, and music from the 90s to the present.

We offer support to the local community and have over 100 volunteers on a non-profit basis.

News

We carry local weather on the hour (daytime), surf report (daytime), and traffic and travel updates during Breakfast and drivetime (weekdays 7-9 am and 4-6 pm).

We also offer Hots positive local news bulletins & have a live link on our website direct with the daily echo for all other news.

Programming

All of the Hot Family output is created for broadcast from our studios, except for some specialist & syndicated shows.

Hot Radio, Hot Gold, and Xtra Hot all use modern radio production techniques, so some segments within any broadcast hour may be pre-recorded or delivered from an offsite location. This could include phone calls or interviews with guests, including celebrities, and live broadcasts. Hot Radio also uses the latest tools available for presenters to broadcast shows remotely when needed.

Music

Hot Radio plays popular music from the 00s to today’s current chart hits.

Hot Gold plays popular music from the 70s, 80s & 90s.

Xtra Hot broadcasts specialist music programs established by local & well-known international DJs, specialising in playing house, garage, funk, soul, rock, reggae, and more.

Complaints Procedure

Ofcom has broadcasting codes that apply to TV & Radio on its website, which we follow. We do our best to ensure that our output is appropriate, but if you have a complaint, then in the first instance, you can contact the Station manager via Email manager@wearehotradio.com
